What is Practice Pathway?
It is the mechanism for physicians to meet eligibility requirements for certification in Addiction Medicine without completing an Accredited Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) fellowship training program in Addiction Medicine. Additional requirements include either minimal time in practice or completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship training in Addiction Medicine.
Eligibility Requirements to enroll in the MI CARES Program
- Unrestricted and current medical license
- Medical degree
- Certification by any American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Board
- Engaged in the practice of addiction medicine by June 30, 2023
How to enroll in the MI CARES Program
Step 1
To begin enrollment for the MI CARES Program, all providers need to set up an MSU username OR Community ID.
Step 2
Complete the program registration survey
You will need your MSU username or Community ID to complete your registration. When your registration is complete, you will receive a confirmation email containing course specifics.
